London's most known landmark is undoubtedly Big Ben, the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament on the shore of river Thames.

The tower is 96.3 meters high and the minute hand is over 4 meters long. The clock is considered very good timekeeper and has been ticking almost nonstop for 150 years.

The name Big Ben doesn't actually refer to the tower but to the over ten ton bell situatued within. The bell has been said to be named after Sir Benjamin Hall.

Big Ben is one of those places you have to visit when you travel to  London.
